Before you start reading our blog of the day, we would like to give you a friendly reminder that we are running lehenga competition from July 15th to July 31st. It's easy to join and has exciting prizes like FREE lehengas and store credits!

When we were sorting our lehengas to post it was really challenging to categorize because of so many variations with fabric, color, designs, styles and the way it is used from regular use to festivals like navratri or from bride's dress to bridesmaids'. Since we in DSC have learnt so much of lehengas from our little contest, we would like to share with you what types of lehengas are there in this fashion industry.

1. Lehenga Choli With Pretty Dupatta

This lovely combination is is always 1st in my list because of it designs.

Lehenga with crop top or normal blouse paired with dupatta is a well known variety.

In southern part of India, it is famously known as 'pavada dhavani', 'langa voni'

Langa voni

In certain other parts, its called as chaniya choli. Cotton based chaniya choli with extensive work is a great choice for Garba dance during Navratri.

2..Lehengas Paired With Anarkalis.

This style of dress gives a regal look. It originated during Mughal Era. A fully flared lehenga with an equally flared anarkali is not easy to get rid of or get worn away over time, as it is still going strong in the fashion industry.

3. Jackets Paired With Lehengas

Wearing jackets are the most modern as it is the latest trend being worn. Extensive work on jackets with plain lehenga are becoming a good combo. It is always the most très chic for an indo western party. This also allows to style differently based on occasion or climate with a range of jackets

3. Kalidar Lehengas

These kind of lehengas are mostly seen in heavy fabric like banarsi silk or heavy worked fabric. Addition or removal of a kali will do fitting well.

4. Fish cut Lehengas

Most brides prefer fishtail lehengas others called as mermaid lehengas. This style shows the curves and gives astonishing looks.

5. Peplum Top Lehenga

Peplum tops are again mughal style. There is a great scope in work for such tops and one of the preferred lehenga design by all age groups.

 6. Indo Western Lehenga

Simple Skirts with Stylish shirts or plain western crop tops will be an all time savers for girls who love to meet in small parties and expects to mingle with mixed crowd.
